
Khartoum-Sudan’s Kenana Sugar Company (KSC) will launch on Sunday a project that uses ethanol and gasoline as fuel for cars for the first time in the country
Thecompany's Managing DirectorandDirector-General,Mohamed Al-Mardi Al-Tigani, said the mixed bio-fuel known as "Nileultra" is made up of 90% of benzene and 10% ethanol. He said the fuel will be used by all benzene vehicles.
In press statements, Al-Tigani said ethanol, the second generation, will be launched next Sunday. He said the new fuel has many benefits including the fact that it will prolong the life of a vehicle, increase engine efficiency and minimize harmful emissions, pointing out that its pricesmuch lower than thesubsidizedgasoline prices.
He added that thebio-fuelsproducedfrommixingethanol and benzene hasbecomeanurgentglobalneed, and become bindingin European Union (EU) by 2020.
Sudan produces (65) millionliters of ethanol, of which (10)% will be soldtothelocalmarketfor use inpaints.
