Thousands of displaced people flee due to a tribal conflict in Sudan’s Darfur

Khartoum-Thousands of displaced people fled to Ed Daein town in East Darfur due to the clashes between Rizeigat and Ma'alia tribes.

Sources said that the number of the displaced people has reached (3000) person until Tuesday morning, pointing out those displaced people are living a tragic situations after they lost their property due to the looting and theft.  

One of the displaced people pointed that they live in a difficult situations and that they lost their farms and everything, indicating that this huge numbers of displaced people are living in bad situation in rainy season without homes, food and health care.

He called upon all aid organizations to intervene for the help of displaced people, urging Khartoum’s government to relocate militias out of IDs camps in order to ensure the safety of citizens and displaced persons.

Clashes between the Rizeigat and Ma'alia tribes in East Darfur have left hundreds dead and injured since tensions began to rise about one week ago. While the Ma'alia accuses border guards affiliated to the Rizegat of joining the fighting, the governor of East Darfur claims that "rebels have assisted the ... Ma'alia tribe against Riezegat."

On Monday afternoon, a Unamid peacekeeper convoy was attacked by "a mob" in Ed Daein. Unamid claims none of their peacekeepers were injured.
