
Abuja-South Sudan's Ambassador to Abuja, Barmina Riak, has stressed that his government is working hard to raise the standard of living for South Sudanese people and eliminate poverty through exploitation of natural, mineral and agriculture resources of the country.
In an interview with the Nigerian Punch newspaper on Sunday, South Sudan’s Ambassador pointed out that his country has large reserves of oil and gas and it now produces about (300,000) barrels of oil a day, noting the importance of the exploitation of petroleum quantities that are used now to increase production and help people to live better life.
He said that South Sudan has metals such as gold, copper and zinc, in addition that most of its States are agricultural lands and about (12) million people working in the field of livestock, pointing out that the richest man in the African continent, Nigerian business, intends to invest in large projects in South Sudan.
About the relations between Nigeria and South Sudan, South Sudanese diplomat praised the efforts made by the Nigerian Government to achieve peace between the Republic of Sudan and South Sudan.
