Khartoum-Sudanese army accused on Thursday the rebel Darfur Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) of bombing an oil pipeline in the disputed area of Abyei, pointing out that attack carried out by support of South Sudan State.
In statements carried out by Sudanese Media Center (SMC), the spokesman of Sudan Armed Forces (SAF), Al-Sawarmi Khalid Sa’ad said that armed group belonging to the Justice and Equality Movement, with support of Juba’s government, launched an attack into Sudanese territory, indicating that the group was given technical support from the South Sudanese military which enabled it to bomb an oil pipeline in the area of Ajaja inside the administrative borders of Abyei.
On Saturday, Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir ordered the shutdown of pipelines carrying South Sudanese oil through Sudan, accusing South Sudan of supporting rebels in Sudan.
