
Khartoum-Sudan’s Ministry of Electricity and Water Resources announced that it has received the final report of the international Committee on The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, pointing out that consultations will be continued among the Governments of the three countries, Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia, to follow up the implementation of its recommendations and to emphasize common benefits and no harm to any of the three countries.
In a statement issued on Sunday, The Ministry said that the Committee held six meetings in the three countries and paid four field visits to the project site and issued its final report, adding that the committee met all work entrusted to it by the reference document adopted by the three countries.
The report said that the diversion of the course River Nile is a routine process just like diversion of courses of the river in Sudanese Meroe, pointing out that the Committee was formed by agreement of the three countries in January 2011 to see the project documentation and to promote the cooperation and building confidence between the three countries, and a clarification of the benefits and implications of the recommendation.
