We solidarate with Egypt on Nile water issue: Sudan's Ambassador to Cairo

Khartoum-Sudan's Ambassador to Cairo, Kamal Hassan, stressed his fully country solidarity with Egypt with regard to the issue of Nile water, pointing out that Khartoum's position not to sign Entebbe agreement because it does not preserve the rights of Sudan.

In statments published by Khartoum-based Al-Akhbar daily newspaper on Friday, Sudanese diplomat said that there are issues associated with the Ethiopian positions toward dams construction, pointing out that the issue of Nile water worry Sudan and Egypt.

Hassan said that Sudan's reservations based on interests and solidarity with countries that are connected with Sudan with regard to the quotas of the Nile water, stressing the need to take into account that the two countries have the rights to be preserved and collaborate with others in their development can be of no harm.

He indicated that his country and Egypt take part actively in a Committee tasked with the study of the effects of The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam

"We are waiting for the report of the Committee and later we will talk about the dam," Hassan said.

He added that Sudan's vision on the dam lies in the need for cooperation among the three countries (Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia) for their benefit and not harm each other
