On May 11th, 2013 Kowa Tiya Zakrya, 44 years old Nuba activist, was detained in Wadi Halfa in Northern state. Kowa is a worker in the Nile port of Alzubair Mohamed Salih. He is father of 4 children and had been detained four times this year. Since his detention his family couldn’t meet him and he is still being detained without charges. Kowa is danger of torture and ill treatment according to his family.
On May20th, 2013, tow Darfuri Students were arrested in Khartoum. Mozamil Mohamed Alhassan, 28 years, and Fathi Yahia 27 years old, were kidnapped by plain clothes security elements from Istad bus station. They tried with their colleagues to fight the arrest but they were outnumbered by the security members. The tow students had been detained incommunicado with no access to family members or lawyers, and at risk of torture.
Jallab Morah Abogor, is Nuba activist, worked previously in UN Sudan Mission, has been detained by Sudanese security since April 29th, 2013 in Alobied prison. He has been denied access to his family and lawyers, after 26 days in detention, no charges has been presented against him and he is in danger of torture and ill treatment.
Since the end of April, 2013, after the new attack of the Sudanese Revolutionery Front in North Kordofan, the Sudanese security started an arrest campaign against Nuba and Darfuri activists in particular and other activists from other regions, but from Nuba mountains dozens remain in detention for 3 weeks now without charges.
Arry organization is concerned about the well being of the new detainees, we call on the Sudanese government to immediately release the all the detainees and allow them access to lawyers and family or present charges against them.
