The Sudanese Revolutionary Front (SRF)” an ally of armed movements, who are fighting the government from Darfur, Nuba mountains, Blue Nile and other opposition parties”, took the battle against the Sudanese government to new level, by attacking areas that has never been part of the fighting before, and mainly to take the combat to be closer to Khartoum the Capital of Sudan. The new wave of attacks by the SRF started on April 23, 2013 on Umrowaba, a t own in North Kordofan, 9 peoples reported dead most of them are civilians, in the next day there was another attack on Abo Karshola in the borders of North Kordofan and Southern Kordofan stae, and then followed by the SRF controlling Abo Karshola, in the result if this attacks by the SRF, the Sudanese government started bombing Kauda and Alburam and other areas in Southern Kordofan.
IDPs numbers in Alrahd exceeded 27 thousands:
The numbers of the IDPs who fled to Alrahad had been in increasing rapidly since the fighting reached to Abo Karshola in North East of Southern Kordofan state in April 27th, 2013. The latest numbers estimations reached to over 27 thousands IDPs most of them from Nuab ethnicities. They came from the villages of Abo Karshola, Um Shemeiska, Alsemaih and many other villages around this area. Although the fighting between the Sudanese Revolutionary Front (SRF) and the government was mainly in Abo Karshola, but the near villages residents were extremely terrified that the fighting will reach their areas so they decided to flee also to Aarahad.
Armed PDF among the IDPs:
Most of the IDPs in Alrahad arew from Nuba ethnicities, as they are from Nuba mountains, eastern mountains areas, but there is thousands of IDPs from Arab nomadic tribes who are forced to flee to Alrahad also as they couldn’t continue their journey with their animals to the south with escalation of violence in the area. Many of the Nomadic Arabs are armed, and some of them are part f the Peoples defense Forces( PDF), they obtain at least 700 pieces of different kinds of weapons. In the beginning the local residents in Alrahad refused the existence of the armed Arabs and PDF among the IDPs but the army convinced them to evacuate the armed Arabs to near camp of the PDF, which didn’t happened so
far.

run away from his attackers.
Prohibition of aid agencies:
The local government of North Kordofan refused to give permissions to the aid organizations to help the IDPs in Alrahad, the local community volunteers who are working with their own capacity and the charity of Alrahad merchants and community, are suffering everyday today provide food and basic needs to the growing numbers of the IDPs in their small town.
Local community efforts to host the IDPs:
The local community leaders in Alrahad opened 9 schools and the facilities belonging to the schools such as students and teachers dorms to the IDPs. Most of the IDPs are residing in this schools, while there is dozens of local families hosting IDPs. Some families are hosting 100 peoples in their houses, and more than 2000 IDPs are hosted now by local families.
The health situation of the IDPs:
There is no diseases among the IDPs yet but the growing numbers and the crowded schools are warning of spreading of diarrhea and malaria. In addition to that the local hospital in Alrahad has no capacity to deal with such emergency if any health disaster occurred, therefore the situation is very disturbing.
The Situation in Abo Karshola:
The situation in Abo Karshola is not clear so far, as the area ia still under the hold of the SRF, while the Sudanese Armed Forces ( SAF) are putting the village under total siege, and sending more military enforcement to the area, but they are not able yet to defeat the SRF. The roads to Alrahad are open so far but the locals are worried the fighting could result in cutting the roads, so they are fleeing to Alrahad in large numbers, reach to 1000 to 2000 per day.
The Sudanese government extended its prohibition for aid organization to reach the IDPs in Alrahad and Alobied, which put the lives of the IDPs at risk because of the capacity of the local residents in Alrahd cannot continue for more days to deal with the deteriorating situation and the inflation of numbers of the IDPs. The Sudanese government has conical fear from the international organizations and aid agencies, as they basically does not want them to document the violations of human rights and to reflect the true picture of the situation from the outside world. While the local media and press live under severe restrictions to report about the situation in war regions, the flow for informations is acting as main factor in the slow response from the international community to this crisis and other ones.
Arry organization is extremely concerned about the humanitarian situation of the IDPs in Alrahad. And the Sudanese government obstinacy in allowing the aid to the war zones, is increasingly putting the lives of tens of thousands of peoples in the war zones in serious danger. Therefore we call on the Sudanese

government to stop its manmade famine police against the peoples in war regions and grant access for aid agencies to provide the needed help to the IDPs, we also calls on the both fighting parties to comply with the international law and protect the civilians and we call on the international community to react urgently to this crisis in Alrahad and in the whole region of Kordofan.
