
Cairo-The head of Al-Azhar Mosque, Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb, has expressed the readiness of Al-Azhar to supportSudanwithalltools it needed to spread the Islamicthought in the face of the missionary organizations which began to work in some states of Sudan.
Duringhismeetingwith the Sudanese delegation chaired bythe head of theSudaneseCouncil of States in Egyptian capital, al-Tayeb confirmed the depth of Egyptian-Sudanese relationsin general,and the relationship ofAl-Azharin Sudanin particular.
For its part, Sudanese delegation expressed its happiness to meet withGrand Imam, stressing their following up to the role of Al-Azharin attempt to fill the gap and gatherEgyptianson one side,calling on the head of Al-Azhar Mosque toconsider increasing of scholarships for studentsSudanese.
Sudanese delegation briefed the Imam on the attempts of Western and AmericanChristianizationin some states, especially in Kordofan State, where they exploit poverty and destitutionin implementation oftheir objectives
