June, 4, 2013

This is to inform the people of South Sudan, media and the international community that Maj. Gen. Johnson Olony, former leader of SSDM/A, arrived in Malakal with his forces on June, 2nd, 2013. The Taskforce One moved to Kodok on May, 15, after the declaration of peace with the Government of South Sudan on April, 26.  However, Maj. Gen. Olony remained behind waiting for forces who were in Blue Nile. On Sunday, he moved to Malakal with Taskforce Two and was warmly welcomed by Lt. Gen. Johnson Gony Biliew, the SPLA Commander of Sector II of the Greater Upper Nile Region.

The arrival of Maj. Gen. Johnson Olony marked the end of war in Upper Nile State and the beginning of the New South Sudan Orderin which every political issue must be settled through peaceful means. All the issues which brought misunderstandings among the people of South Sudan shall be addressed through peaceful means rather than the use of force.

The peace signed between the rebels and the Government of South Sudan has marked this year as a year of New South Sudan Orderwhereby anybody who wants power must use peaceful democratic means to achieve it. The New South Sudan Orderis an indication that the civil population of South Sudan wants peace and the people of South Sudan are committed to support the wise leadership of President Salva Kiir Mayardit who has been working hard to unite the people of South Sudan since he signed Juba Declaration with Maj. Gen. Paulino Matip in January, 2006.

Upon his arrival in Malakal, Maj. Gen. Johnson Olony called upon the people of South Sudan to unite behind the historical leader of the South, President Salva Kiir Mayardit. It is now clear beyond reasonable doubt that President Kiir’s leadership style is the only one that unites the people of South Sudan. His love for his people to sit and live together is the one that brought the independence of the Country on July, 9, 2011.
