
Khartoum-Sudan’s First Vice President, Ali Osman Taha, has received the final report of the Gezira Scheme Performance Review Committee which was delivered by head of the committee Dr. Taj Al-Sir Mustafa.
Dr. Mustafa said the report included the outcomes of the meetings of the committee with the partners and parties concerned with the project, explaining that the project comprised (7) major points and future visions regarding the issues in question and how said visions can be implemented and through which mechanisms.
Taha commended the report methodology and said it will find its way to implementation on the ground, indicating that the report included points dealing with the scheme's institutional and administrative status, infrastructure, water systems and supply, agricultural production, financing and marketing, service units, and free proprietors of land's issues.
Sudan’s First Vice President said the committee held 99 meetings over three months covering the presidency, government, experts, land owners, farmers, companies, political leaders, parties, vocational and engineering and media unions and groups.
