
Khartoum-The Arab Food Security Conference participants stressed that Sudan constitutes a main source for food in the Arab world, recommending that customs laws in free zones be reviewed to encourage inter-Arab investment and enhance agricultural services.
At the conclusion of the Conference in Khartoum on Tuesday, the Secretary General of Arab Labour Chambers, Imad Shihab, called for activating the recommendations of the conference and realizing them on the ground, pointing out that conference attracted (160) businessmen from the Arab world, especially Saudi Arabia.
The participants recommended that the Arab private sector must cope with the initiative launched by Sudan’s president, Omer Al-Bashir, reinforce its investment activities in Sudan, and reaffirm the role of Arab companies in developing societies.
